I am a senior solutions architect with more than 22 years in technology, specialising in AWS cloud adoption, application modernisation, migration strategy and generative AI. I lead customer engagements from initial discovery through business case development, architecture design and implementation handover. My work includes AWS MAP Assess and Mobilize programmes, TCO modelling, cloud operating models, landing zones, governance and AI-enabled transformation. I combine a deep software engineering background with practical cloud delivery experience, helping executive stakeholders and engineering teams turn strategy into deliverable architecture.

AWS Authorized Instructor (Alumni) and AWS Champion Instructor. Delivered AWS and Azure training programmes, translated complex cloud topics into practical learning material and mentored learners and future instructors.

AWS MAP Assess
Led discovery for a complex legacy application estate and developed the migration readiness position, target architecture, TCO business case and phased modernisation roadmap. Defined a strangler-pattern approach and recommendations for the Mobilize phase.
Migration & Modernisation
Assessed a large legacy application and database estate, developed the AWS target architecture and evaluated managed application delivery options. Produced technical, operational and financial recommendations for executive decision-making.
AI Production Readiness
Reviewed an AI platform using Amazon SageMaker and Amazon Bedrock, covering production architecture, scalability, data residency and cloud economics. Defined a practical roadmap for production readiness and growth.
Experience-Based Accelerator
Designed discovery-led workshops to identify and prioritise business use cases, explore one opportunity in depth and define an achievable implementation roadmap using Amazon Bedrock and agentic AI patterns.

A calibration and asset management company ran two core business applications on self-managed on-premises servers. No automatic failover, no scaling, manual deployments, limited DR and no path to AI capabilities without significant infrastructure investment.
Full static analysis covering architecture mapping, security assessment (10 categorised risks), maintainability evaluation, test coverage gaps and dependency health review.
Multi-AZ, high-availability design in eu-west-2. EC2 behind ALB, RDS Multi-AZ, Auto Scaling, VPC with public/private subnets, Site-to-Site VPN, WAF, CloudWatch, Route 53 and Secrets Manager.
Itemised cost model verified against AWS Price List API. Both applications running with full redundancy, managed databases, security controls and monitoring for ~$481/month.
Phased rollout using Amazon Bedrock: natural language chatbot, intelligent document search (RAG), automated report generation, predictive maintenance. Total AI cost: $53-97/month additional.
Built and deployed a new compliance module on a live EC2 instance. Proved the migration path works, not just on paper.
The client received a complete, ready-to-execute migration package: executive summary for decision-makers, detailed technical plan for engineers, verified cost model, risk register with mitigations and a working proof of concept. Full redundancy and professional security controls at a cost that compares favourably to maintaining equivalent on-premises infrastructure.
